The hallmarks of the Craftsman style are beautiful clean lines and crisp right angles. Quality of craftsmanship is the shining star of this style, which eschews carvings, turns and other fussy details that could take away from its simple elegance. Instead, this minimalistic style echoes the handsome, uncomplicated Shaker style and rejoices in the beauty of natural color schemes and fine craftsmanship. Quarter sawn oak and cherry woods are often used.
The term Craftsman is sometimes used interchangeably with the Arts & Crafts, Bungalow, Stickley Furniture or Frank Lloyd Wright styles.
